‘Past The Evening’ comes from Brighton-based Michael Baker’s upcoming album Salt. The track is built on serenity, delicate acoustic guitar chords and a soulful, folky lead vocal. Lyrically, ‘Past The Evening’ is an honest reciliation of how hard the music industry can be for an upcoming artist. Of writing it, he says “I'm 30 -​ years-old a​nd always thought I would have got used to the business by ​now​, and yet here I am, and the music industry still just makes me want to hide away a​nd '​just make music man’”. There is influence from Bon Iver and Iron And Wine buried within, but Baker crafts a sound firmly his own with this track.
